Synthetics fibers ! Fly tying

With the advent of synthetic fiber, materials for fly tying have gone to leave out different natural materials, synthetic fibers have achieved much success for more reasons:

  • They remain more colorful over time
  • They are on average more resistant over time
  • They are more resistant during assembly
  • They are easier to work with

Indeed they have many points to use them, on the other hand instead they present a single disadvantage, they are often plastic based and therefore even though they are not very polluting. Here a choice is made by the Fly tyer, using them or not using them.
