Mallard feathers, have always been used in the fly tying. Its feathers are often used to tie flies' wings, whether they are dry flies or wet flies. They can also be used to tie tails and antennas, for example the antennas of a sedge. The coloring, normally characterized by colored bars alternating with black, creates movement in the water, thanks to the optical illusion precisely derived from the alternation of colors. Many are the species of ducks that are used, among the main ones we find the mallard, both male and female, the teal and the wood duck.
