The chamois hair is perfect for fly tying. The flies tied with chamois hair probably originate from the great Francesco Palù, one of the greatest Italian fly fishermen ever. Over the years, his style has infected many fly tyiers, both Italian and non-Italian.

What distinguishes the chamois hair from the hair of other ungulates is the movement in the water, compared to what many think, it is not a super floating material, so much so that the good Palù also built streamers and large nymphs.
