As planned, the fly construction course began at 9:00 am, with presentations, our dear friend Sandro Mandrini began to explain the history and origins of the Coq de Leon with a fantastic slide.

Gallo pardo or better Coq de Leon Spanish is originally from the region of Leon, it has unique colors that cannot be found in the rest of the world, even the best quality of a well-known American brand whose name I do not want to make, it is not at the level of the original Spanish feathers, we can in fact distinguish them for different factors, the main ones are:

  1. Shining of herls.
  2. Amount of herls in a feather.
  3. Length of herls.

Obviously it was not just talked about coq de leon, after the very interesting explanations began the "funny" phase of the day, Sandro and the boys at the clamp to tie some beautiful flies.

2 hours of practical lessons to learn the knowledge and manual skills to handle the Coq de Leon in the best way.

Learning directly from those who have been doing it for 20 years or more is priceless.

Thanks Sandro
